CARING Leeds Rhinos fans are raising money for badly injured rugby player Danny Scott.

The wellwishers have made £600 so far by auctioning rugby league souvenirs on internet site eBay.

The money is going to a benevolent fund set up after 23-year-old Danny, from Marsh, was left paralysed while playing for amateur club Moldgreen.

The latest auction by the Rhinos supporters is for a signed shirt worn by Huddersfield Giants player Paul March in the 2002 Northern Ford Premiership Grand Final.

Bidding has gone up to £37 in the sale, due to end about 3pm tomorrow.

John Dobson, one of the fans behind the venture, said: "We annoyed pretty much everybody in the rugby league community until they gave us items we could auction for this worthy cause.

"We are over the £600 mark, which really has taken my breath away."

A shirt signed by Wigan's Danny Sculthorpe went for £102.

Another, autographed by Rhinos player Matt Adamson, fetched £56.
