EIGHT young people are to receive £25 each from Huddersfield Art Society.
The annual John James Hamer Awards are given to pupils who show a good interest and ability in the visual arts.
The awards - named after Mr Hamer, a former president of the society and an ex-head of Huddersfield School of Art - have been running for over 30 years.
Each year, a group of pupils are chosen by art teachers and the heads of Huddersfield high schools.
Winners this year are:
Benedict Woodhead, of Beaumont Park, who goes to Honley High School; Peter Hinchcliffe, of Beaumont Park, a student at Moor End Technology College, Crosland Moor; Jayne Boyce, of Honley, who goes to Holmfirth High School; Andy Robinson, of Honley, who is at Greenhead College; Lucinda Croft, of Almondbury, a pupil at King James's School, Almondbury; Joseph Firth, of Netherton, who attends Newsome High School; Samantha McCall, of Battyeford, who is at Huddersfield New College, and Mhairi Scott, of Skelmanthorpe, from Shelley High.
