BABY Alfie John Reed is thought to be Huddersfield Giants' youngest fan.
The six-week-old has been attending home games since before he made his appearance in the world.
And he hopes to cheer his favourite rugby league team on to victory when he attends his first home match against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on May 30.
Baby Alfie was just three weeks old when his grandparents Denise and Michael McKenna and family friends Michele and Barry Hirst signed him up for a season ticket.
The two couples, along with Alfie's proud parents Nicky McKenna, 24, and Jason Reed, 26, of Huntington Avenue, Bradley, are all season ticket holders and attend home and away matches.
"Alfie was actually due on a cup semi final day. I said I'd have to have him on the pitch, but luckily he came early," said Nicky.
Alfie was born on March 19 in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary weighing in at 6lb 5oz.
All the Giants merchandise is too big yet for Alfie but Nicky has had a tiny T-shirt printed with "No 1 Giants fan" and the number 34 on the back - the number of her favourite player Marcus St Hilaire, who is sponsored by the Examiner.
"Alfie still hasn't got his first pair of boots, but he has got his first ball signed by all the players. He's definitely a player to watch out for in the future," added Nicky.
