BRIDGET Jones author Helen Fielding has given birth to a baby boy.
The 45-year-old writer, whose mother lives at Netherthong in Holmfirth, and her American partner Kevin Curran said they were "overjoyed" at the arrival of their first child.
The 7lb 5oz baby was born at the Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.
"The baby currently has 12 names but we are working on narrowing it down a bit!" she said.
Fielding - who has lived in Los Angeles for the past four years - met Curran, an award-winning scriptwriter for The Simpsons cartoon, when she was in the US promoting her first Bridget Jones book.
