THE parents of a Huddersfield woman who sparked a two-day police search for a missing baby girl have been granted bail by a judge.

Jayne and Keith Little were remanded in custody along with their daughter Jodie last week after they were all charged with kidnap.

But yesterday lawyers acting for them successfully applied to Judge Christopher Batty for bail with stringent conditions.

Jodie Little, 23, was kissed by each of her parents as she was taken back into custody until a plea and case management hearing on June 15.

Her barrister did not make an application for bail on her behalf.

Her mother Jayne, 47, was granted bail until that hearing but she must live at her home in Dyson Street, Dalton, Huddersfield, and she will also be subject to an electronically-monitored curfew between 7pm and 7am.

Jayne Little is also banned from having any contact with Social Services staff, prosecution witnesses or her co-accused.

She must also surrender any passport to the police within 24 hours.

Keith Little, 53, has similar conditions on his bail, but he will have to live at his parents home in Middlesex.

During a preliminary hearing lasting just over half an hour at Bradford Crown Court the progress of the case was discussed and Judge Batty indicated a trial date had been fixed for September 10.

The 11-month-old baby girl, who was allegedly kidnapped on March 12, cannot be identified for legal reasons.
