MEMBERS of the Baha'i faith in Huddersfield have commemorated a holy day.

They were remembering the martyrdom in 1850 of one of the founding figures of their religion. Known only as the "Bab", meaning gate, he arose in Persia to preach social and religious reform.

His teachings laid the basis for the present day world-wide Baha'i faith.

The celebration was held at the home of Nick and Ruby Morris in Bradley.
