A FATHER and son who ran a firm which failed with debts exceeding £266,000 have agreed to be banned from being company directors.
Ronald and Matthew Quarmby were directors of electrical contractor Quarmby & Son, Lockwood Road, Lockwood.
The company was put into compulsory liquidation by Birmingham District Registry on the petition of a creditor owed more than £9,000.
An investigation by the Official Receiver in Leeds showed that the company had estimated debts totalling £265,848.
Ronald Quarmby, of Dean Fold, Kirkburton, agreed to be banned from holding directorships or taking part in company management for two-and-a-half years.
His son, Matthew Quarmby, of Sude Hill, New Mill, agreed to a three-year ban.
The Insolvency Service said both men allowed the company to trade from August, 2002, when they knew the business was insolvent, having taken advice from an insolvency practitioner on August 16 of that year.
