OUR sausages are the best in the country!
That was message from jubilant butchers at a Huddersfield farm.
The shop is the `pork' of the town with their champion of champion sausages.
Hinchliffe's Farm Shop, Netherton, can boast the best bangers in the UK after the Meat Traders' Journal's Champion of Champions event.
The shop was up against top offerings from butchers from all over the country at the Meat, Bakery and Food Exhibition at Birmingham NEC.
And the farm shop walked away with the highest accolade for its pork, mature cheddar and chives sausages.
Simon Haigh, a partner at the farm shop, said: "It's fantastic. It's taken us five years to be able to win the competition.
"It's a great achievement to manage to qualify in the first place.
"It's a competition in which you need to have won a major championship over the last 24 months before you can enter.
"So all the people that were there were already champions, from competitions that had been run all over the country."
He added it had been a great team effort from all the staff.
