A CHARITY has urged people to clear out their cupboards to raise money to help sick animals.

The PDSA wants people to carry out an early spring clean and go through their drawers and cupboards looking for bric-a-brac and any unwanted gifts or other items they can sell in their shops.

The PDSA has a shop at 66 Commercial Road in Brighouse and a treatment centre on Greenhead Road in Hudd- ersfield.

The shops raise funds to provide free PDSA-funded veterinary treatment to the owners of sick and injured pets who cannot afford to go to a private vet.

PDSA area retail manager Liz Korzanski said: "One of the most popular sellers in PDSA shops is bric-a-brac and we are always running low on stock.

"Every donation made really does make a difference."
