A MAN was viciously beaten with a baseball bat in his own home - by two boys thought to be only 14 or 15.
The 56-year-old victim is in hospital today, suffering from the injuries he was dealt after answering a knock at his door.
The Paddock man suffered head and injuries to his face in the beating by two Asian youths.
Both attackers were wearing distinctive, all-white traditional Asian clothing.
They got away with a small amount of cash.
It was the second time the man had become a crime victim. His house was burgled a fortnight ago.
Detectives are investigating whether there is any link between the two incidents.
Det Sgt Tim O'Sullivan, of Huddersfield police, said the man was in his home in Clough Lane when he heard repeated rings on his doorbell around 7pm last night.
"He answered the door and was confronted by two youths, one of whom immediately set about him with a baseball bat," said Det Sgt O'Sullivan.
"He fell to the ground and the youths forced their way into his front room, grabbed a small amount of cash and ran off.
"This was a totally unprovoked attack on a man in his own home," the detective added.
The man is expected to be discharged from hospital later today.
