AND you thought Les was locked up...

Coronation Street bad boy Les Battersby should have been languishing in jail, after being "fitted up" for assaulting a policeman.

But now Les has left Wetherfield and turned up behind the bar at The Town Hall in Lockwood, sharing a laugh with landlady Mrs Jeanne Brennan.

And he is helping her add to the £10,000 she has already raised for local and national charities.

Les, alias actor Bruce Jones, has become a great friend of Jeanne, who has been at the pub for five years.

And every time he is in the area, he pops in for a pint.

Regular customers enjoy having their photos taken with Bruce and they are charged £2 a time for the privilege.

"He's a smashing man, really friendly, and people love to see him in the pub" said Jeanne.

"I have worked with him on several charity efforts and he loves coming to the pub.

"Over the years we have collected more than £10,000 for charities including Kirkwood Hospice, Macmillan and the Forget Me Not Trust and it shows how generous Lockwood people are".
