FRIENDS of Beaumont Park (FOBP) held their annual summer gala to raise money to restore the historic Lockwood park.

The park’s big day featured music from the Knottingley Band and Pennine Jazz together with donkey rides, a magician and stalls.

Visitors flocked to enjoy the attractions in the park, only two miles from Huddersfield town centre.

The Friend group aims to gather funds to improve the 29 acre site and its gardens, pond and visitors centre.

Beaumont Park was created in 1883 based on London’s Hyde Park.

A number of improvements have been made over the past two years and many more are in the pipeline.
