MILNSBRIDGE Socialist Club held a Beer and Pork Pie Festival as part of its 120th anniversary celebrations.

And with over 30 real ales and 13 varieties of pork pie, it is no wonder that the crowds poured in.

Organiser of the event Neil Readman from Staithes in North Yorkshire said: “It was a fantastic atmosphere.

“I’m friends with Shane Eastwood and his partner Jean Calvert who took over the club 18 months ago.

“They had said they are trying to get more established with real ale”.

The ales came from all over including Northumberland and Kent – with Nelson Brewery’s Dragon’s Revenge, selling out the fastest.
