LITTLE Bethany Stringer can now relax in her very own "home sweet home" after planners said she DIDN'T need permission for her Wendy house.
Six-year-old Bethany was devastated when a planning officer came to measure and photograph the 5ft by 5ft playhouse, outside which she is pictured, to find out if it complied with regulations.
The action - reported on the front page of Wednesday's Examiner - followed a complaint about the Wendy house, decking and shed in her family's garden in Boulder Gate, Marsden.
But now her mum and dad Alison and Chris have been told planning permission wasn't needed.
"She was crying and cheering at the same time when I read out the letter," said Alison, 37.
Mr Stringer, 38, said he believed a "small-minded" individual had complained following a recent dispute.
A spokesman from Kirklees Council said: "When the council receives complaints/representations from the public it has a responsibility to follow them through.
"It has done so in this case, and as a consequence no further action is necessary. Bethany can sleep peacefully."
