A COUPLE have celebrated their golden wedding – albeit belatedly due to snow.

Brian and Ann Mosley, of Newsome, had hoped to celebrate 50 years of marriage at Durker Roods Hotel, Meltham, on March 23, but the party was snowed off.

However, the couple managed to celebrate at the same place with friends and family last Saturday.

Brian, originally from Flockton, and Ann, originally from Wakefield, met at Horbury Fair, Wakefield, in 1960.

The couple married at Netherton Methodist Church on March 23, 1963.

They have two sons, Darren and Jason, two grandchildren, Georgia, 16, and 11-year-old Ella and step-grandchildren Georgie, 14 and Harry, 13.

Brian, a retired delivery driver, enjoys growing vegetables on his allotment, while Ann, who escorts disabled children to school, is ‘bingo crazy’.
