KNOWL Park has been named the most dilapidated in Mirfield.
Councillors who said the park was in the worst condition of all called for improvements.
Their verdict came after a tour of the town to see what parts needed changes.
The visit was made by members of Kirklees Council's Mirfield area committee.
Clr Beverley Warby, the committee's chairman, said: "We all agreed Knowl Park was in the worst condition of all.
"It's got antiquated play facilities, which appear to have been abused, and there were beer cans and broken glass on play areas."
The councillors were joined during the day by colleagues from Mirfield Town Council.
They handed out 500 survey forms to find out people's thoughts on what was needed.
The councillors will be sending a report on their inspection to Kirklees, asking for an action plan to deal with their worries.
