EMLEY couple Rosey Hamilton and Chris James are sharing their wedding day and honeymoon destination with royal couple Charles and Camilla.

Former Examiner reporter Rosey and husband-to-be Chris wed tomorrow, the same day as the royal couple, who changed the date of their ceremony following the death of the Pope.

Rosey said: "When they announced they were to marry on the Friday, I did feel I was going to be upstaged.

"But I was glad it was the day before our own wedding.

"However, circumstances have made things different.

"I'd rather share my wedding day with that of the future King of England than the day of the Pope's funeral."

Rosey, who now works as a publicity and marketing officer for Kirklees Active Leisure, added: "Anyway, Chris is expecting me to look much better than Camilla!"

The couple, who are to marry at St James the Great Church in Flockton, met on a blind date in Stratford two-and-a-half years ago.

They had a long-distance courtship for more than a year, when Chris worked in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, and Rosey lived in Huddersfield.

The couple, who are both 33 and keen walkers, were engaged on Easter Sunday last year when Chris, a logistics support manager for a Clayton West company, proposed while they were climbing High Crag above Lake Buttermere.

They are honeymooning in the Scottish Highlands, where Charles, Camilla and a Press pack will also be heading.

A spokeswoman from VisitScotland's Romantic Scotland Campaign said the royal couple's choice of Deeside for the honey-moon would have a big impact on tourism in Scotland.

She added: "In the short term, hotels and bed and breakfast establishments across Royal Deeside are reporting full houses for the period of the honeymoon as the world's Press descend in hope of snatching a picture of the newlyweds.

"In the longer term, the choice of Scotland as a honeymoon destination further cements the country's reputation as one of the world's most romantic places.

"Generations of the royal family have chosen Deeside as their romantic hideaway, ever since Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were captivated by it in 1848.

"Princess Anne chose to be married on Deeside, and Prince Edward and his bride also chose to honeymoon there.

"By choosing Scotland for their honeymoon, the royal couple have ensured that worldwide attention will again focus on Scotland's romantic charms."

A COUPLE who will also be getting married on royal wedding day tomorrow are Dr Jonathan James Goodall and Ruth Whitehead.

Jonathan, 28, a biological scientist, and hydrologist Ruth are to marry at All Saints' Church, Netherthong, at noon.

Ruth, 26, said: "At least being married on the same day as Charles and Camilla will mean Jonathan will never forget our wedding anni-versary!

"I don't think we had any staunch royalists coming to the wedding, so everyone should turn up.

"We're getting married at exactly the same time as them, so we didn't want anyone staying at home to watch it on television!" she added.

Ruth, who is from Holmfirth, went to Holmfirth High School and Huddersfield New College.

The couple met at Birmingham University.

Ruth is a hydrologist with a consultancy firm assessing flood risks to properties.

The couple live in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire.
