A-LEVEL student Maariya Mahmood became the Chief Executive of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust for the day as part of a national event.

Maariya,16, spent a day touring wards and departments and meeting staff as part of the takeover day run by The Children’s Commissioner.

Chief Executive, Owen Williams, said: “The takeover day is an excellent opportunity, not only for young people to experience the world of work but also for us to gain a fresh perspective on what we do.”

Maariya said: “I have really enjoyed the day it was an amazing experience to see how a big organisation like this works.”
