POLICE have found a massive haul of guns and other lethal weapons at a house in Kirklees.

Officers discovered dozens of weapons including shotguns, air rifles and knives at the home in the Soothill area of Batley at about 6.30pm on Tuesday.

A man was arrested in connection with the find and remains in police custody today.

The Examiner revealed this month that the number of guns being illegally held in Huddersfield could top 100. Community insiders suggest they include two Uzi sub-machineguns, an AK47 assault rifle and possibly even grenades. They are mainly being used by would-be gangsters.
