A VILLAGE bobby will get on his bike.
Members of the Denby Dale Area Committee are buying a bike to enable Police Community Support Officer Neil Clark get around the area more easily.
The £360 bike is the committee's response to PCSO Clark's need to travel to outlying villages in the area to talk to residents about ways of deterring crime and bad behaviour, and dealing with low priority issues.
PCSOs aim to build relationships with communities and be a visible police presence.
Area Committee Chairman Clr Jim Dodds, said: "Everyone appreciates how difficult it's been for Neil to get around all the villages in the ward, so the area committee was pleased to be able to offer some modest two-wheeled transport."
