A crime-fighting duo have brought the summertime blues to bike yobs across Kirklees.

The officers, dedicated to removing nuisance bikes from the streets of Kirklees, are looking back on a successful summer.

Off-road motorcyclists PCs Nigel Law and Andrew Money have seized 12 vehicles for nuisance or document offences, as well as issuing 27 Section 59 warnings to people suspected of using vehicles to cause a nuisance or illegally.

The Dewsbury-based duo have also made numerous arrests for motoring offences, as well as being involved in searches for suspects and people missing from home.

Many of the incidents they have investigated have been in residential areas.

Local people have complained about youths riding motorcycles on public footpaths and areas close to homes, often late at night.

The team has been in action throughout the summer and is expected to resume patrols after the winter.

PC Law, said: “We have had some great results in tackling nuisance bikes and vehicles this year, and I would like to thank the public for the information they have given us which has contributed towards these results.

“We would also urge people to continue to use the 101 number to report these incidents.”
