A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a crash in Calderdale.

The 46-year-old biker from Greetland was badly hurt when his Kawasaki motorbike was in collision with a Peugeot 309 car.

The crash happened on Wakefield Road at its junction with Bankhouse Lane in Copley just before 2.10pm yesterday.

The man was taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital, but died hours later from his injuries.

The devastating news was being broken to relatives and he had not been named this morning.

The car was travelling on Wakefield Road towards Bankhouse Lane from Copley and the bike was going the other way when the accident happened.

Police have appealed for any witness to come forward.
