A biker who died in a crash near Bretton is believed to be from Wakefield.

Police are expected to release more details today about the 37-year-old man who died at the scene after his motorcycle collided with a tractor and trailer.

The tragedy happened on the A637 Huddersfield Road between West Bretton and the Haigh motorway roundabout at around 7.40pm on Tuesday.

He was travelling south away from Flockton towards Bretton Mill Farm along with a second motorcyclist when he was in collision with a trailer being pulled by a tractor that had just left a nearby field.

The road runs alongside the Yorkshire Sculpture Park entrance and the Bretton Country Park.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the bikes before the crash.
