A number of bikes and a scooter have been stolen from Kirkburton.

It is the latest in a series of such thefts across the Huddersfield area.

Police need help tracing the thieves who made off with a yellow Donohue road bike, a Pinnacle cyclocross bike, a black Marin Wolf Ridge mountain bike and a black and red Ribble carbon fibre bike. The scooter was a Gilera model.

The theft took pace in the Savile Park area of Kirkburton between Saturday, 12 April and Sunday, 13 April.

PC Adam Johnson, of Kirklees CID, said: “If anyone has been offered items matching these descriptions for sale or has information about their whereabouts I would urge them to call Kirklees CID on 101 or independent charity Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.”

Meanwhile, officers have recovered an off-road bike they believe may have been stolen.

The motorcycle was seized alongside another vehicle from an address in the Lockwood area of Huddersfield on Tuesday, 15 April.

The other motorcycle seized has been identified as stolen from the Holmfirth area earlier this month, but initial enquiries in to this motorcycle have failed to identify its owner or link it to a reported crime.

“I would urge anyone who believes the bike belongs to them or with information about its owner to call the Kirklees Operation Viper team on 101.”
