MOURNERS on motorcycles were at the funeral of a well- known member of West Yorkshire's biking community.

A Triumph bike with a hearse sidecar carried the coffin of Mark Bamforth to his final resting place yesterday.

Mark, 45, of The Ridegways, Linthwaite died last week after a six-year battle with non-Hodgkinsons lymphoma.

He died in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with his partner, Anne, and family around him.

His brother, Chris, said: "We will remember him wearing a big grin behind that beard, riding his beloved Triumph Bonneville.

"His greatest loves were motorbike rides to Whitby and the colour of the heather.

"Nothing was ever too much trouble for Mark. He would always lend a hand no matter what."

Mark was a member of the Triumph Owners Club in West Yorkshire.

He lived his early life in Clifton, Brighouse and went to St John's Primary School and Rastrick Grammar School.

He got his first bike in 1976 and joined his first band as a drummer in 1975.

Mark was always a free spirit. He had had several jobs and travelled with bands at home and abroad. He also learned to play the saxophone.

His funeral at Linthwaite Methodist Church was followed by cremation at Huddersfield Crematorium.
