A BIN man was killed after a telegraph pole, which was knocked over by his reversing bin lorry, landed on his head.

Now West Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses following the fatal incident in Beeston Park Terrace, Leeds on Monday morning.

A white refuse disposal vehicle was reversing along a cul-de-sac at around 8am when it collided with a wooden telegraph pole.

The telegraph pole then fell and struck a 55-year-old refuse worker on the head, causing fatal injuries.

Officers are keen to speak to any witnesses, particularly anyone who left Beeston Park Terrace by vehicle around the time of the collision.
