FIREFIGHTERS were called out today when a lorry shed part of its load of fuel cans.

Huddersfield firefighters cleaned up fuel leaking onto the road after the incident at 8.10am.

A portable generator also fell from the lorry in the incident, which happened at Halifax Road, Birchencliffe between Hollybank Road and the Cavalry Arms.

The incident caused tailbacks for rush-hour traffic heading into town and towards juntion 24 of the M62 at Ainley Top.
