Councillors have approved road changes at a busy junction.
Cabinet members today agreed to install two mini-roundabouts, move the pedestrian crossing and introduce double yellow lines at the Birkby Hall Road junction with Wheathouse Road and Grimescar Avenue.
It’s intended to reduce the number of accidents and the junction and slow down traffic.
Residents objected on the grounds it would create more noise and lead to the loss of two parking spaces, and a petition signed by 26 people opposing the plans was submitted.
But Cabinet members ruled the Traffic Regulation Orders could proceed.
