FIREFIGHTERS tackled a small fire in an electricity sub-station.
People living in the Victoria Road area of Thornhill, Dewsbury, reported hearing an explosion just after 9am yesterday.
The blast inside the station had pushed the doors off their locks.
The fire was confined to a transformer by using a dry powder extinguisher.
Electricity engineers were called to the scene and homes in the area lost their power.
