ONE of the biggest ever fires in West Yorkshire has devastated a major Calderdale business.
The blaze which destroyed most of shopfitting firm Design and Display is thought to be suspicious.
Police have confirmed today that two men were arrested in connection with the inferno.
But the business already plans to be back in action within days at another premises on the same industrial estate.
No-one was hurt as flames swept rapidly through the factory on the Lowfield Business Park off Calderdale Way at 10pm on Saturday.
The first firefighters on the scene immediately called for back-up and at its height 45 appliances from all over West Yorkshire were at the scene.
A West Yorkshire Fire And Rescue Service spokesman said: "This is one of the biggest fires we have ever had to deal with in the county.
"The previous largest I can recall was at the Allied Colloids chemical plant near Bradford in July 1992 when 30 appliances were sent."
Fire crews were still at the scene in Elland damping down today and may well be there for another couple of days.
Design And Display sales executive Rob Foster said:
"We have already found alternative premises nearby and hope to be back in production this week."
