A ‘PERFECT STORM’ is set to bring blizzard conditions to Huddersfield his weekend.

Examiner weatherman Paul Stephens is predicting that snow will start at around 5am tomorrow (Friday) and continue right across the weekend.

Up to 25cm (10in) of snow is expected on high ground and up to 10cm (4in) in the towns.

Paul says weather models predict three warm fronts from the Atlantic will collide with cold Arctic air, a “perfect storm” which will cause blizzards with winds of up to 50mph over the hills.

Heavy snowfall is expected throughout tomorrow and disruption should be expected.

Paul said: “All the leading weather models in the USA and Europe have been pretty consistent for the last few days and there is no reason to disbelieve them.

“If it doesn’t work out we’ll have egg on our faces.”
