VOTE for Baldy’s Blog!

Examiner reporter Adrian Sudbury, who has been chronicling his battle to beat leukaemia for the Examiner’s website, is now a finalist in an international competition.

His website blog is up for best medical or health issue blog at the annual Weblog Awards to be held in Las Vegas this week.

And if you have followed his story you can vote online as the final decision is made entirely by the general public!

Adrian (pictured) said: “It’s fantastic to even be shortlisted for this award. There are no prizes as such, and unfortunately because I’m so vulnerable to infections, I would not be allowed to fly out there even if I did win!

“But it’s great to think that after such a difficult year at least something positive has come out of it all.”

In last year’s event, over half a million votes were cast for a range of blogs from around the world.

The competition works in the following way.

Thousands of blogs, in a range of categories, were submitted earlier this year.

Organisers then whittled these down to what they felt were the ten best in each subject area.

These finalists are then thrown out to the general public to vote on.

To vote for Baldy’s Blog visit the Examiner website and click on the blog.

There is a logo for the awards which takes you straight to the site.

You can only vote from one computer, once a day, with cheats being disqualified.

The poll shows how many votes have been cast and are automatically updated.

The closing date is November 8 with results being announced at a big event in Vegas the same day.

“The purpose of the awards is to have fun and increase the profile of issues raised in the blogs on an international level,” Adrian said.

“Please vote for me if you can and thanks again to everyone in Huddersfield who has supported me so much throughout my illness.”
