STADIUM supremo Ken Davy has promised more concerts if next month's gig by Blue is a success.

The owner of Huddersfield Town and the rugby league Giants says there is a `feelgood factor' at the McAlpine which he wants to see reflected on July 31.

Girls Aloud and Darius - plus Greetland singer Nikk Mager and his band Phixx - are supporting Blue at the big event, with tickets on sale now.

It's set to be a winner especially with teenagers and families.

"The concert is, quite frankly, a bit of an experiment because we are promoting it and if it works, if it's successful and people come down and support it, then we will have more," said Mr Davy.

"The concert is adding to the overall feelgood factor among thousands of Town and Giants fans at the moment and we obviously hope people will come down and make July 31 a big success."

Concerts are usually booked by promoters who work with the bands. The venue doesn't take the risk.

Some 30,000 tickets for the gig went on sale on April 13. They are available from Huddersfield and Holmfirth tourist information centres and the stadium box office.

The show will mark the 10th anniversary of the award-winning stadium - and Blue are set to announce the name of its new sponsor on stage as the deal with construction company McAlpine draws to a close.

Stars who have performed there over the years include Bryan Adams, Beautiful South, REM, The Eagles and Bon Jovi.

* Tickets for unreserved seating in the John Smith Stand and lower tiers of the Lawrence Batley Stand are £22. They are available on 01484 223200 or 01484 222444.

Reserved seats on the upper tier of the Lawrence Batley Stand are between £25 and £28. Ring 01484 541199.

BLUE are following in the footsteps of other big names who have all headlined at previous sell-out concerts at the stadium:
