A WOMAN who ordered a new gas cooker in time to cook her Christmas dinner was still waiting for it to be connected on December 25.
Edelma Monteith is so frustrated with the company she bought it from that she has asked for it to be returned, as it was never connected.
But now she's stuck waiting for it to be collected.
It is stuck in the way in her kitchen, making her life a misery.
Mrs Monteith, of Alder Street, Fartown ordered the Parkinson Cowan gas cooker from her Littlewoods catalogue on November 18. She asked at the time to pay £40 extra for it to be connected when it was delivered.
But when it arrived on December 11 she was told there were no instructions on the order form to connect the cooker.
It has been in her kitchen ever since - and she hasn't been able to use it.
"I wanted it for Christmas, to cook dinner for my family. But Littlewoods just passed me from person to person," she said.
"I've been so stressed out with the whole thing, it has made me poorly. It has been in the way all the time, so I told them to take it back."
Mrs Monteith contacted Littlewoods and received a letter saying they would arrange for collection.
But no delivery van has arrived.
A Littlewoods spokesman said he was still investigating the case, but he said the company was working with Mrs Monteith to find a solution in the immediate future.
