Hundreds of people made their way to Castle Hill last night to have the highest Bonfire Night experience in Huddersfield.

Revellers as well as photographers congregated on the spot to take in what was happening across the town.

A number of groups held their own private bonfire or fireworks parties and at one point the fire service attended to observe the situation.

As well as people letting off fireworks, keen photographers took up spots to get stunning shots - just like Charlotte Graham's above.

The 51-year-old from Fenay Bridge said the narrow roads up to the hill summit were packed with cars which meant getting up and down was tricky.

She said: "I got there at 6.30pm and there were already about 50 people there. Through the course of the evening that swelled to around 500.

"I went up Castle Hill because it gives you a very different perspective on the town. I wasn't expecting to see  as many people up there setting off fireworks.

"I was looking for something with Huddersfield in and Castle Hill gives you a nice view across the town."
