INFORMATION about the services of one of the two trusts providing local community health care in the Huddersfield area is being sent to people's homes.
Huddersfield Central Primary Care Trust is led by GPs and nurses. It organises community medical care and pays for hospital treatment for its patients.
Information about health budgets is included in the brochure along with tips on how to stay healthy. There is also a list of useful telephone numbers.
Rob Napier, chairman of the trust, said: "We want people to know about their local NHS services and have written this booklet in a way that we hope people will find interesting, informative and easy to read.
"We are keen to hear what people think of it and I would encourage everyone to fill in the comments form in the booklet and send it back to us."
One lucky reader will win a year's membership to the Stadium Health and Fitness Club in a free competition.
Copies of the booklet are being delivered to people who live in the Huddersfield Central Primary Care Trust area.
Anyone who does not receive a copy can pick one up at doctors' surgeries, chemists, dentists or opticians in the area or from their local library.
Copies are also available from the Primary Care Trust offices by calling 01484 466000 or from its website at: www.huddersfield central-pct.nhs.uk
