A VILLAGE is in for a jobs boost now a new industrial estate has been completed.

Two units have already been snapped up at the Dearne Park estate in Clayton West.

A further unit is under offer, leaving only a single one now available.

Estate agents handling the properties said the success was proof of the Huddersfield area's growing appeal because of its good location.

Alec Michael, of Eddison's in Huddersfield, said: "Ease of access and transport links are fast becoming the area's key-selling points."

Huddersfield-based R&D Sheet Metal is taking one of the spaces at Clayton West on a six-year lease.

Another has been bought by an unnamed local company for near the £465,000 guide price.

A third unit is under offer to a Glasgow-based firm.

Mr Michael said two other business parks in Clayton West had also been popular.

"Units in the nearby Victoria Court and Park Mill Way schemes have also generated substantial interest," he said.

"This provides further proof that the combination of good location and competitive rents available in the Huddersfield region is pushing the area towards the forefront of industrial development in the North."
