A SEVEN-year-old boy was knocked down in a hit-and-run accident in Marsden.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the accident in Manchester Road, near its junction with School Lane, at about 6pm on Sunday.

The boy, who lives in nearby Olive Terrace, spent the night at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with serious cuts to his face, as well as heavy bruising.

The black, modern- style Volkswagen Golf, which was travelling away from Huddersfield, kept going after it hit him.
