A 32-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court charged with a double murder.

Richard John Walsh is accused of killing his 38-year-old partner, Samantha Jessop, and her 20-year-old daughter, Rebecca.

He appeared before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday and was accused of murdering the two women between December 9 and December 15.

Walsh gave his address in court as 183 Fernside Avenue in Almondbury, where the two bodies were found last Thursday morning.

He spoke only to confirm his name, age and address during the 10-minute hearing.

He appeared before the magistrates with his left arm in a sling and wearing a white top.

His solicitor, Andrew Sugden, made no application for bail and Walsh was remanded in custody.

His case was sent to Bradford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing which will take place this Friday.
