Post office services could be on the move in Bradley.

The post office at Brooks Yard, Bradley, will move a few hundred yards to Bradley News & Booze at 1211 Leeds Road under proposals from Post Office bosses – to provide a modern open-plan branch with extended opening hours.

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a six-week public consultation.

If the move goes ahead, the branch would open from 7am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and from 7am to 1pm on Sunday. This would offer an extra 34hrs 30mins of Post Office service every week.

The new Bradley branch would offer Post Office products and services throughout shop opening hours from two low-screened, open plan service points integrated into the retail counter instead of from a separate screened counter.

Suzanne Richardson, regional manager said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Huddersfield and we are confident that this new modern post office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”

She said: “This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”

The consultation will close on December 23, 2015. Submissions can be made during the consultation by Freepost YOUR COMMENTS to Post Office Ltd, via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, via the Customer Helpline on 03457 22 33 44 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.

Customers can also share their views online through a questionnaire at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 160320.
