GOLFERS from all over the district swung into action for the Mayor’s Appeal at Bradley Park.
The charity event raised an impressive £2,500 for Clr Eric Firth’s chosen charity, which this year is the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
The day took the format of a shotgun start at 8.30am followed by lunch.
The winners of the event, with 87 points, were M Byrne, A Schofield, R Neary and J Renand. Second with 84 points was a three-woman team of A Mandl, T Jeffries and M Durrans with Bradley Park professional Jack Pearcey.
Third, also with 84 points, were S Mallins, R Cleave, D Mear and A Ashton.
The keys to the new children’s hospice at Brackenhall will be officially handed over to the children’s hospice today at half-time during Huddersfield Town’s home game against Stevenage.
