PEOPLE have been urged to forget the car this week and cycle to work.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust has backed National Bike Week, which aims to promote cycling to work as a more fun, cost- effective and healthier choice than the car.

The Trust is offering free bikers' breakfasts at the Calder- dale Royal Hospital in Halifax tomorrow and at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary on Thursday.

They are for any member of staff who travels to work on a bike.

The cyclists also have the chance to enter a free prize draw to win a water bottle and £25 worth of Halfords vouchers.

They can enter a free national prize draw to win a £2,000 Exodus adventure holiday for two people, a pair of hand-built Brompton folding bikes, a limited-edition new Raleigh Chopper or one of 50 pairs of tickets to the Cycle Show.

There will be information stands about healthy lifestyles on both days, giving staff and visitors the chance to get information from Calderdale and Kirklees councils.
