A MAN killed after apparently falling from a bridge on to the M1 was a married man with a young child.

Jason Teedon was a quality control manager who lived at Ward Green in Barnsley.

His body was discovered at 4am on Wednesday on the southbound carriageway near Junction 37 at Dodworth.

It led to the M1 being closed in both directions until 3pm.

Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with Mr Teedon's death.

Police are still appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police on Sheffield 0114 220 2970.

The M1 incident caused major hold-ups and the problems worsened after a fatal smash on the A1(M) near Doncaster at 8.45am the same day which also closed that major route in both directions.

A car burst into flames after a crash which also involved two lorries. Its driver died at the scene.
