Police in Brighouse have made a new appeal for witnesses after a robbery at a betting shop.

And they revealed the robber threatened staff with a gun at the William Hill bookmakers on Commercial Street, Brighouse on Saturday evening.

The incident happened at 6.53pm when a man entered the store and threatened staff with a gun.

He then made off with an amount of money.

Det Insp Inspector Gary Stephenson of Calderdale CID, said: “This was a distressing time for the staff working in the premises who should not have to deal with this kind of incident.

“Robberies such as this are rare in Calderdale are rare and we want to keep it that way. Bringing offenders to justice helps us keep crime low.”
