Brighouse post office is set to move – back in time!
The proposal is to move the branch from its current location at Wellington Arcade, Brighouse, to The Old Post Office, less than 200 metres away at Park Street.
It would mean a return to its original use for the three-storey stone building, which dates back to Victorian times.
A six-week consultation period is now under way for customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move.

It is the second time in recent years that the Post office has considered a move.
In 2012 postal chiefs were looking at moving it to become part of a card and stationery store at Unit 1 Wellington Arcade – about 150 metres away from the current location.
But after talks with customers, the move was put on hold.
The new post office will include extending the service hours, five serving positions, a mixture of two open-plan positions, two secure positions and a combi-counter, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the retail till. .
If the move goes ahead, the branch will open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday instead of closing at 12.30pm on Saturdays as at present.
The consultation will close on May 17. Submissions can be made during the consultation by Freepost YOUR COMMENTS to Post Office Ltd, via email to email@example.com, via the Customer Helpline on 03457 22 33 44 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
