PUPILS at a Brighouse school have been nominated for awards for their contribution to school life.

Six pupils at The William Henry Smith School have been nominated for an Engage award.

Engage is an organisation which seeks to improve services for children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.

Joshua Simpson has been nominated for an Outstanding Achievement Award.

Leon Smith and Josh Mansfield are both nominated for the Outstanding Personal Progress Award.

Billy-Ryan Vaughn, Callum Johnson and Troy Watson are all nominated for the Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award.

The school’s learning group, Charlton, is tipped for the innovation and Creativity Award.

Engage was formed to enable head teachers working with pupils with such difficulties reward those who contribute to school life.

The awards take place on Merseyside in July.
