THE brother of a Batley man murdered while on holiday in India has travelled to the country to make a documentary about his killing.

Bilal Dawood, also from Batley, travelled to the Gujarat region where his brother Saeed, 41, and cousin Shakil Dawood, 37, died.

The got caught up in religious riots between Hindus and Muslims that left around 3,000 dead in February last year.

They were on holiday with another family member, Imran Dawood, 19, when 50 Hindus ambushed the family's vehicle near Prantij. Imran survived.

Bilal travelled to the region where they died to make the documentary.

The families of the dead men have been trying to persuade the Indian government to make more effort to find the killers.

No-one has gone on trial for the deaths.

Batley and Spen MP Mike Wood has demanded the Indian authorities bring the killers to justice.

He said offers of British police help had not been taken up by the Indian government or the state authorities of Gujarat.
