A BURGLAR has been jailed for a string of offences in the Birkby and Fartown areas.
Arshad Ali, 28, of Cawthorne Avenue, Fartown, appeared before Bradford Crown Court last Tuesday .
He pleaded guilty to nine offences of burglary and asked for 27 further offences to be taken into consideration.
He was jailed for four years.
The cases follow several appeals in the Examiner after raids earlier in the year at homes where large quantities of Asian jewellery were stolen.
Pc Dave McSweeney, of Huddersfield police, said Ali had been caught as a direct result of help received from members of the public following appeals in the Examiner.
He appealed for anyone with information on any crime to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 in confidence.
He added: "With help from the people of Huddersfield, when we make this type of appeal, we do get results and it helps keep crime down.
