A large amount of drugs have been stolen from a pharmacy.

Police say a break-in took place at Elland Pharmacy in Huddersfield Road sometime between 11pm on Saturday night and 10am on Sunday morning.

The thieves gained access to a controlled drugs cabinet and stole a number of items, mainly methadone tablets and ADHD medication.

Insp John Simpson, of Calderdale District Police, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area between the times that the burglary occurred.

“We would also ask the public to be vigilant and report any drugs they may find discarded or that are being offered for sale on the streets.”

Police are appealing for information and witnesses to the burglary to contact them on 101 quoting log 458 of January 18 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
