Two men have been charged in connection with a rooftop burglary at a Huddersfield’s King Street jewellers.

The incident happened on Saturday at 9pm when thieves got into the Beaverbrooks store by climbing through the roof.

It is the second time in just over three months the shop has been hit by thieves.

Police arrested three men following a search on Saturday.

Two have subsequently been charged and one has been released without charge.

The two men charged are aged 32 and 37 and are expected to appear at Kirklees Magistrates Court today (Monday).

The latest incident comes after thieves entered the store via the roof on December 21 and stole £150,000 worth of designer watches.
